Advanced Court Wildcard

A wildcard is a special invitation to play on a higher-level (advanced) court. A wildcard may be awarded to players who do not currently meet the Advanced court's skill requirements.

There will be a maximum of 2 wildcards awarded for the Advanced court each week.

  1. The first wildcard is automatically awarded to the winner of the previous week's Intermediate+ court.
  2. If there is a second Intermediate+ court then the second wildcard is awarded to the winner of the second court.  If there is no second Intermediate+ court, then the second wildcard may be offered at the discretion of Pickle Hub if at 6pm Tuesday there is a spot available on the Advanced court.

Intermediate+ court playing for a wildcard

Players on the Intermediate+ court will play a modified round-robin format with a chance to earn a wildcard entry onto the Advanced court the following week.

Games will be played to 15 points, win by 1. Points scored in each game will be tallied to determine the player’s total score for the night.

Winning a game earns you 15 points. Losing a game earns you the number of points you scored in that game. The more points you score, even in losses, the better your chance of earning the wildcard.

For example, the maximum points you can score in a night is 4 games x 15 points per game = 60 points.

At the end of the night, the player with the highest total score will earn the wildcard. In case of a tie, both players will earn a wildcard.

Wildcard’s earned are for the following week’s Friday night. Wildcards may not be carried over to another future date. If the winner of a wildcard is unable to attend the following week, Pickle Hub may at their discretion, award the wildcard to the next highest points scorer.
